New
Mobile CT Scanner
FROM: Leonard LaBella President and CEO
I am pleased to announce that
Verdugo
Hills
Hospital , in conjunction with Foothill Cardiology, has contracted with CardioCura to provide a mobile Cardiovascular CT scanner to the hospital. The mobile scanner will be available on campus every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Sept. 5th.
Recent advances in CT technology are changing the rules of cardiac disease diagnosis. Newer, faster CT machines, like the latest Philip's scanner that will be coming to VHH, are capable of taking clear pictures of a beating heart – without an invasive catheter, sedation, or hospitalization. A Cardiovascular CT scan may be a better diagnostic option for your patients who do not have obvious symptoms but still have risk factors. I encourage you to stop by to see this latest innovation in healthcare technology now offered here at VHH.
Please note that the mobile scanner will be located in a special trailer in the physicians’ parking lot. Approximately five (5) spaces on the north side of the lot will be temporarily blocked off each Monday evening beginning Sept. 4th to accommodate the trailer. The spaces will be available again the following Tuesday evening once the trailer is removed. My hope is that the benefit of this new equipment will outweigh any parking inconveniences this may cause on Tuesdays.
To learn more about this new equipment and service or to refer patients, please contact Foothill Cardiology at 818.952.1426. If you have any parking issues related to the mobile unit, please call me directly at 818.952.2295.

The system will be available on the computers at the nurses station, PACS computer and MedApp handheld devices and the Doctors Lounge PC. The login will use BioMetric device for finger print. This will require all uses to be registered and enrolled before access will be granted.
